Power Ranking THON Greek Letter Themes

THON is one of the most unifying events on campus, involving over 16,500 students and more than 400 student organizations. As tradition dictates, some of these organizations decorate the Greek letters with themes and patterns to differentiate themselves from others. It’s become an unspoken competition to have the most eye-catching, can’t-miss designs.
We’ve compiled the top 10 Greek letter themes that are on display in the stands at THON 2026.
No. 10: Alpha Gamma Rho & Phi Sigma Sigma

Winnie the Pooh, Tiger, Piglet, and Eeyore are some of the most iconic Disney characters of all time. Alpha Gamma Rho and Phi Sigma Sigma encapsulated that childhood magic in their sign theme this year. Seriously, the bow on Eeyore’s tail is too cute.
No. 9: Sigma Alpha Epsilon
Partnered with Penn State club cheer, Sigma Alpha Epsilon took their 2026 theme under the sea, featuring a stingray, shark, clownfish, jellyfish, seaweed, and conch shell. The deep-sea blue, along with the vibrant colors of the ocean life, is a soothing combination that graces the BJC stands.

No. 8: Kappa Kappa Gamma

Kappa Kappa Gamma’s football-themed letter design is very sleek. It’s too bad they wasted it on the team that wears hideous Kelly Green.
No. 7: Zeta Beta Tau & Sigma Sigma Sigma

Dragons, wizards, knights, oh my! Zeta Beta Tau went full medieval magic for THON 2026, and we’re here for it. The lights around the edges are a nice touch, and the duo has consistently been one of the more active sign holders, swaying their letters to the beat of the BJC sound system.
No. 6: Alpha Epsilon Pi & Alpha Phi

Alpha Epsilon Pi and Alpha Phi went with a classic Peanuts design. Charlie Brown’s iconic t-shirt, Snoopy’s dog house, the lit-up Christmas tree, and the giant pumpkin from the Halloween special combine for an adorable theme. However, because Snoopy is sitting in not one, but two letters, we have to deduct points. The rules are simple, folks. No sitting at THON!
No. 5: Phi Gamma Nu

Ohana means family! Phi Gamma Nu’s Lilo & Stitch-themed letters are crisp and colorful, featuring a light-up surfboard. There are no critiques here.
No. 4: Alpha Chi Rho

The Lion King is objectively one of the best Disney movies of all time, and clearly, Alpha Chi Row knows this. Featuring Simba the lion, Pumba the Warthog, and Timon the Meerkat, Crow’s letters boast a balance of cuteness and accuracy. They even gave Simba teeth!
No. 3: Alpha Tau Omega & Zeta Tau Alpha

Speaking of iconic kids’ movies, “How to Train Your Dragon” is also in the upper echelon. Stormfly, Toothless, Hookfang, Barf & Belch, and Hiccup himself headline Alpha Tau Omega and Zeta Tau Alpha’s THON 2026 sign theme. Every letter truly captures the specific color palettes and unique traits of each dragon. I mean, the two-headed Zippleback being on the branches of the T? 10/10, no notes.
No. 2: Beta Sig Beta & Kappa Delta

I’m sorry, but Minecraft’s iconic pixelated dirt blocks will beat out almost anything, especially with an entire line dance lyric dedicated to the legendary game: “Pixel world, Steve’s all blocky. Hold on, watch out, chicken jockey!” The execution is simple, yet sharp, like a diamond sword.
No. 1: Alpha Delta Pi & Theta Delta Chi

Talk about a combination of timeliness and execution. Alpha Delta Pi and Tau Epsilon Phi put together an absolute masterclass in Greek-letter sign design, delivering a Winter Olympics-themed sign. Snowfall above the Olympic logo, an ice hockey player, the snowboard halfpipe, a gold medal, a mountain range, and skis crossing for the X? This theme earns gold!
