Penn State Women’s Lacrosse’s Rocquette Allen Named Big Ten Freshman Of The Week

Penn State women’s lacrosse attacker Rocquette Allen was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Tuesday after strong showings against Pitt and Drexel last week. Allen becomes the first Penn State women’s lacrosse player to win a Big Ten Weekly Award this season, and is the first since Brooke Long last April.

The Lone Tree, Colorado, native had three goals, four assists, and seven points in two games against Pitt and Drexel. Her second goal against Pitt secured the Nittany Lions an overtime victory, and she had a career-best day against Drexel.

Allen currently leads the team in goals this season with 15, which is the most by any Power Conference freshman in the country.

Allen and the rest of the Nittany Lions will look to remain undefeated as they head to Ithaca, New York, on Saturday, February 28, to take on Cornell. The game will start at 3 p.m.
