Penn State Women’s Hockey Remains No. 3 In Latest USCHO Poll

Penn State women’s hockey remained No. 3 in the USCHO poll, one week after it achieved its highest ranking in program history. It received 255 points, holding off Minnesota for the No. 3 ranking for the second consecutive week by 14 points.

The Nittany Lions swept Syracuse in a best-of three series in the AHA semifinals as they shut out the Orange in game one and won 2-1 in game two at Pegula Ice Arena. With the sweep, Penn State has advanced to its fourth consecutive AHA championship game. The Nittany Lions have won the last three titles.

Penn State will take on No. 12 Mercyhurst in a winner-take-all championship game at Pegula Ice Arena on Saturday, March 7th, with puck drop set for 2 p.m. It will be a rematch of last year’s AHA championship. The winner will clincg an automatic bid into the NCAA Women’s Hockey Tournament.
