Penn State Women’s Hockey Stays At No. 3 In Latest USCHO Poll

Penn State women’s hockey remained No. 3 in the USCHO poll for the third consecutive week. It received 258 points, three more points than last week and 16 more than its closest opponent, Minnesota.

The Nittany Lions clinched a spot in the NCAA Tournament with their win over No. 12 Mercyhurst in the AHA Championship game. They clinched the No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament, securing a first-round bye and the right to host an NCAA Regional for the first time in program history.

Penn State will take on the winner of the No. 6-seed UConn vs. No. 9-seed Princeton game, which will be played on Thursday at Pegula Ice Arena. If the Nittany Lions win the regional final, they will await the winner of the regional final between No. 2 Wisconsin and Quinnipiac/Franklin Pierce in the Frozen Four on Friday, March 20, which will also be played at Pegula Ice Arena.
