[Photo Story] Penn State Hoops’ 2025-26 Season

Penn State men’s basketball has officially closed the book on its 2025–26 season following a loss to Northwestern in the Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament. The Nittany Lions finished the year 12–20 overall with only three conference victories.

Even though the results didn’t always go their way, the Nittany Lions continued to compete throughout the season. With the season now over, we’re looking back at some of our favorite photos from the year, from early-season matchups to the final stretch of the schedule.

The Nittany Lions had eight new players this season, combined with three returning players.

The season also marked the third year of the Mike Rhoades era in Happy Valley as the program’s head coach.

The Nittany Lions made their annual return to the historic Palestra on January 3 to take on Illinois.

Offensively, the Nittany Lions were led by Freddie Dilione V, who averaged 14 points per game, while freshman star Kayden Mingo led the way in both assists and steals.

Josh Reed closed out his senior year in the blue and white while younger players, including freshmen, grew more comfortable and confident as the season progressed.

Whether in Happy Valley or on the road, fans continued to show out to support the Nittany Lions.

The team ended the season in Chicago at the United Center during the Big Ten Tournament.

The Nittany Lions have plenty of work to do this offseason, ahead of year four with Rhoades at the helm.
