Lady Lions Hire Olivier Cadet As Assistant Coach

After hiring former WNBA player Octavia Blue on Tuesday, Tanisha Wright has made another move to build her staff. The Lady Lions’ head coach has brought in Olivier Cadet as an assistant coach, the program announced Friday morning.
“We couldn’t be more excited to have Coach O join our staff,” said Wright in a release. “His knowledge of the game combined with his ability to develop players and skillfulness with video technology will be a huge asset to the Lady Lion basketball program, and I’m eager for us to get to work.”
Cadet most recently served as an assistant coach and director of skill development for three years with the University of Georgia. On the court, he was tasked with leading practices and individual drills, while also managing opponent scouting with video analytics. Cadet helped develop three All-SEC players in Dani Carnegie, Javyn Nicholson, and Diamond Battles. He also developed two SEC All-Freshmen in Trinity Turner and Mia Woolfolk.
As an undergraduate student at the University of Central Florida, Cadet served as the head manager of the women’s basketball program from 2019-22. He was part of the staff during the 2021-22 season, when the Knights won the American Atlantic Conference title and earned their highest-ever NCAA Tournament seeding.
Cadet brings professional experience as well, serving as an NBA Player Development intern in 2023, where he worked closely with Chris Brickley, an established NBA trainer, to conduct workouts with notable NBA stars, including Klay Thompson, Jimmy Butler, Donovan Mitchell, and Paolo Banchero.
Additionally, Cadet volunteered with the Atlanta Dream from 2022-2024, working under Wright, who was the head coach at the time.
