Four Penn State Men’s Lacrosse Players Earn USILA All-America Honors

Four Penn State menโs lacrosse players earned USILA Lacrosse All-America honors, the organization announced Thursday. Alex Ross, Jon King, Hunter Aquino, and Reid Gills all earned an accolade.
Ross was named to the All-America First Team. He finished the season with 23 caused turnovers, 35 ground balls, and started all 16 games this season. Ross had been an impact player since his freshman year at Penn State. He was also named to the First-Team All-Big Ten and the USA Lacrosse All-America Second Team.
King was named to the All-America Third Team coming off the bench as a short-stick defensive midfielder. Despite never starting a game, he played a key role in Penn State’s defense. He finished the season with 18 caused turnovers, 38 ground balls, and six points on five goals and one assist. He had a .500 shooting percentage, which is tied for the most on the team, and played every game for the Nittany Lions this season. King was also named to the Second-Team All-Big Ten and the USA Lacrosse All-America Third Team.
Aquino was named an All-America honorable mention. He finished the season with 26 goals, nine assists, and 35 points with a .378 shooting percentage. Aquino was also the second leading scorer for Penn State despite missing six weeks due to an injury.
Gills was also named an All-America honorable mention. He had a total record of 123-for-201 on face-offs and a .612 face-off win percentage. He led the team in ground balls with 71 and had two points off one goal and one assist. He was also named a USA Lacrosse All-America honorable mention.
