There are exactly 3,953 currently in the official Unicode Standard, yet none are related to Penn State.

With nearly 88,000 students across all campuses, and more than 800,000 living alumni worldwide, we started to question the lack of Happy Valley representation on our phones. With that in mind, we thought that it was crucial to brainstorm new emoji ideas to help students, alumni, and parents convey their Nittany Lion thoughts and feelings throughout the day.

Since we’ve already come up with ideas three times, let’s add to the list and do it a fourth time!

Student Athlete On Electric Scooter

Don’t worry, now you won’t need to explain to friends why you have tire marks all over you, or your ankle mysteriously broke on the way to class.

Just send this emoji and they will understand.

No, but seriously, make sure you aren’t texting while walking on campus, and your head is on a swivel at all times. Student athletes on electric scooters are about as dangerous as polar bears.

Do you really want to know where we were on April 29th?

Hopefully, everyone stayed safe during the 2025 Penn State blackout. That is, unless you were unfortunate enough to be reffing an outdoor sports match during the storm and had a porta-potty fly straight into you.

We’ve all seen the viral video; now, folks can mention it without saying a word.

Nittany Lion

For some reason, there is still no mountain lion emoji, or any animal emoji, that looks like the Penn State Nittany Lions.

We are sick of seeing athletics and other social media accounts use the traditional lion emoji, so we decided to make our own.

Berkey Creamery Ice Cream

You can never go wrong with some ice cream after failing an exam or watching Penn State football lose in the White Out.

Just make sure you never ask to mix two flavors at the Berkey Creamery or on your newest emoji.

Words don’t do the Happy Valley tailgates justice. We fixed that problem.

The last emoji we made is of the famous Grilled Stickies seen across State College.
