Former Richmond Pitcher Dom Ruggiero Transfers To Penn State Baseball

Former Richmond pitcher Dom Ruggiero has committed to transfer to Penn State baseball, he announced Monday. He has four years of eligibility remaining.
The relief pitcher from Royersford, Pennsylvania played 22 games in his freshman year with the Spiders last season. He allowed 21 hits, 13 runs, two home runs, and tossed 28 strikeouts. He finished with a 3.76 S-ERA in 26.1 innings.
The Spiders finished with 20 conference wins in 2026, the program’s highest record since 2007. The team secured the No. 2 seed in the Atlantic 10 Tournament, earning a bye week, but fell short to VCU.
Ruggiero was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team, contributing to the Spiders’ 33 regular-season wins. He joins Clemson’s Bryce Clavon in Penn State’s transfer group.
