Penn State Hoops To Play St. Bonaventure In Exhibition Game

Penn State men’s basketball will face off against St. Bonaventure on Saturday, Oct. 17, in the Greenlight Network Preseason Showcase at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, per the Bonnies.
Tip time and ticket information will be released at a later date.
The games, since just exhibition matches, won’t count for either team. Last year, Penn State played in two such games against D-II Shippensburg and Dayton.
Though it won’t count, St. Bonaventure leads the all-time series between the two teams 11-10. The teams have not played since Penn State left the Atlantic 10 in 1990.
The game between the Nittany Lions and Bonnies is the second game of a doubleheader with D-II Daemen and D-III St. John Fisher.
“We are really excited to start off the season at KeyBank Center in Buffalo,” St. Bonaventure coach Mike MacDonald said in a news release. “We are happy the Western New York fans can get a chance to see the ’26-27 Bonnies in this exhibition game against one of the Big Ten’s premier programs.”
The game will mark the first time former Penn State forward Mason Blackwood will play against his former team. He left the program through the transfer portal this offseason after averaging 2.6 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.2 assists in 12.2 minutes per game.
