Penn State Football Center Brock Riker Named To Rimington Trophy Watch List

Penn State football center Brock Riker was named to the Rimington Trophy watch list, the program announced Thursday.

The Rimington Trophy is presented to the most outstanding center in Division I college football. This year, the trophy committee narrowed the watch list to 40 candidates and will use the Walter Camp Football Foundation, Sporting News, and the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) to determine a winner.

Riker transferred from Texas State, where he started all 12 games and earned second-team Freshman All-America honors from The Athletic. The 6’4″, 291-pound center has yet to surrender a sack across 438 pass-blocking snaps.

While he hasn’t been named the starter yet, Riker seems to be expected to take the starting center role in the fall.
