Penn State football offensive lineman Cooper Cousins has been named to the 2026 Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Watch List, the Wuerffel Foundation announced on Wednesday.

Cousins was named among 113 other nominees.

The Wuerffel Trophy recognizes student-athletes who use their platforms to serve others and make a positive impact in their communities. It was named after former Florida quarterback and 1996 Heisman Trophy winner Danny Wuerffel.

“It’s an honor to recognize these student-athletes for the difference they are making in the lives of others,” Wuerffel said. “Their commitment to service demonstrates the powerful impact college athletes can have both on and off the field.”

Cousins, who was also named a 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team nominee, works closely with Team IMPACT, an organization that connects children facing serious illness with college athletic programs.

The Nittany Lion was paired with 10-year-old Gannon Kupko Jr. from York County, Pennsylvania, in September of 2024. Gannon was born 12 weeks premature and continues to undergo daily chemotherapy to manage immune dysfunction.

Cousins also represented Team Impact at the 2025 Game Day Gala, an event that hosted over 1,000 people and raised $3.3 million.

Cousins said of his AFCA Good Works Team nominee that former Penn State teammate Nick Dawkins helped introduce Cousins to the impact of community service.

Dawkins was the recipient of the 2024 Allstate Wuerfful Trophy and was named Allstate AFCA Good Works Team Captain that same year. He’s the last Nittany Lion to receive the award.
