Penn State Baseball Signs Two Transfer Portal Pitchers

Penn State baseball has announced the signing of two new transfer portal pitchers on Tuesday morning: William & Mary right-handed pitcher Luke Calveric and Loyola Marymount right-handed reliever Zach DanDekker.
Calveric, who attended Miles E. Godwin High School in Richmond, Virginia, will be entering his fifth collegiate season with his third program. He committed to Radford out of high school, where he had an extremely rough 12-game stint before transferring to William & Mary for the 2024 season.
In three seasons with the Tribe, Calveric pitched to an 8.87 ERA in 25 games and 44.2 innings, struggling with command to the tune of 50 walks to 41 strikeouts. The 6’6″ righty will enter 2026 as a redshirt senior with one year of eligibility remaining after missing all of 2025 with injury.
DanDekker, who attended El Toro High School in Lake Forest, California, initially committed to a junior college in Costa Mesa, where he spent his first two years of college before transferring to Loyola Marymount in 2026.
In 16 appearances as a multi-inning reliever for the Lions, he pitched to a 4.60 ERA with 41 strikeouts to 23 walks in 45 innings. The 6’8″ righty also has one year of eligibility remaining
These two signings officially conclude Penn State baseball’s offseason, as an official release from the team formally welcomed all nine incoming transfers to add to their 13 incoming freshmen, which includes recent signee Dan Pardini and highly-touted Japanese pitcher Genei Sato.
Penn State has the No. 26 transfer class in the country, according to D1Baseball.com, and the No. 25 incoming recruiting class, according to Baseball America, even with the loss of top commit Alex Weingartner to the Chicago White Sox.
