Penn State Linebacker Caleb Bacon Partners With PA Pork

Sure, NIL might be ruining college football, but if that’s the case, it might as well be funny.

In a recent video released by PA Pork, Penn State linebacker Caleb Bacon is seen lifting in a shirt that says “Bacon is just the beginning,” while endorsing PA Pork’s product.

Bacon’s NIL deal is one of many among fellow Nittany Lion football players, but this one might take the cake — or the pork, for that matter — as the funniest one.

“Consumers want to see how food fits into real life, and athletes provide a powerful opportunity to tell that story,” Courtney Gray, executive director of PA Pork, said in a statement released by the organization.

“With the season opener just days away, there’s no better time to show how pork supports performance, preparation and recovery. Bacon’s passion for football and his training diet makes him a natural partner to help us showcase pork’s versatility.”

Believe it or not, this isn’t the first pig-based wordplay NIL deal he’s been a part of.

Bacon partnered with Iowa Pork Producers Association during his tenure at Iowa State. He did so with teammates Myles Purchase, Tyler Moore, and Tommy Hamann. The four of their last names, with Bacon’s at the end, spelled out “Purchase Moore Hamann Bacon.”

Let’s hope Bacon’s love for pork has him dietarily ready for Saturday’s contest against Marshall.
