Beaver Stadium has been under construction for over a year now, and while it won’t be fully renovated until 2027, a lot has changed since the Nittany Lions last took the field at home.

With the 2026 Penn State football season starting this Saturday, let’s review what’s changed at Beaver Stadium.

Interior Changes

Several improvements have been made throughout the stadium to better the fan experience. The video board at the north end has been upgraded to a higher-quality, more efficient system, and new speakers have been installed throughout the stadium to improve sound quality and coverage.

Additionally, the east concourse has been expanded by 20 feet in width, and two new stair towers have been added inside Gate F.

The lighting has also been revamped, with new fixtures added to the east and west sides of the stadium to improve illumination.

Parking Updates

Parking at Beaver Stadium is now mobile pass only.

Fans are advised to add their parking passes to Apple Wallet or Google Pay before arriving on game day.

Access Updates

There are accessibility changes for the 2026 season as well.

Fans with disabilities who need field-level access are advised to enter through the Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant lane at Gate B. Other ADA fans should use the Club/Letterman Gate or the All-Sports Museum Gate for elevator access.

Increased Capacity

Beaver Stadium can now hold 108,000 fans, with the potential to exceed 109,000, making it the largest stadium in the United States by capacity.

The new upper-bowl seating on the west side of the stadium is expected to be fully installed by mid-season, raising the stadium’s capacity from last season’s 106,304.
