Penn State Women’s Volleyball Outside Hitter Haley Burgdorf Named Big Ten Freshman Of The Week

Penn State women’s volleyball outside hitter Haley Burgdorf has been named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Monday.
The recognition came after she helped Penn State sweep DePaul, No. 4 Stanford, and Ohio last week.
Burgdorf had a breakout performance in the sweep against No. 4 Stanford at the Palestra. She hit .450 and had 10 kills, nine digs, and two aces. All of her stats in this match were career highs.
Burgdorf hit .463 over the entire week with 2.67 kills and 1.67 digs per set. She is the first Big Ten Freshman of the Week for Penn State women’s volleyball since Caroline Jurevicius was honored in 2024.
Penn State will return to the court to host Villanova on Tuesday, September 15, at 7 p.m.
