Penn State football wide receiver Koby Howard will be out for an “extended period of time,” but his injury is not season-ending, Matt Campbell announced at media availability Wednesday.

Campbell said Tuesday that Howard’s availability for Saturday’s matchup against Wisconsin was “unclear” after getting “dinged up” on a touchdown against Buffalo in Week 3. Penn State’s WR1 is now out as the Nittany Lions head into Big Ten play.

The sophomore wideout amassed 344 yards and two touchdowns just through Penn State’s three non-conference games. He also rushed for 22 yards and a touchdown.

Campbell did not provide a specific timetable for Howard’s return.
