Netflix is developing a fictional comedy series based on the recent alleged drug trafficking ring that took place in multiple Penn State fraternities, according to Deadline.

Former Northwestern basketball player Charlie Hall is expected to star in the unnamed project and Alec Berg will serve as executive producer and supervising writer, according to the entertainment news site.

Since his Big Ten Basketball career ended, Hall has made multiple television appearances, including “Bel-Air,” “Veep,” and “Single Drunk Female.”

Berg is best known for writing the final four seasons of the famous sitcom “Seinfeld,” but was also a writer on “The Cat in the Hat” and was the executive producer on “Silicon Valley.”

Berg has 24 Emmy nominations over his career.

Berg’s representatives did not respond to a request for comment by the time of publication.

The comedy series will be loosely based on the 13 current and former Penn State students who were charged on August 17 in connection with an alleged drug trafficking ring that ran primarily out of the off-campus houses of Sigma Chi and Delta Upsilon.

The two fraternities did not reply to a request for comment by the time of publication.

The alleged trafficking operation took place between 2023 and 2024. Attorney General Dave Sunday said the operation was a coordinated effort to traffic large amounts of cocaine brought from Philadelphia and New York.
