Drivers looking for parking in downtown State College will have one less parking option.

The Beaver Avenue Lot will temporarily close for repair work beginning Monday, September 28, according to a notice from the State College Borough Public Works Department.

Located on West Beaver Ave., the lot will remain closed through Saturday, October 3, as crews complete maintenance and repairs.

Anyone with a vehicle parked in the lot must move it before closure begins.

The borough announced that all vehicles must be removed by 8 p.m. Sunday, September 27. Cars left in the lot after that time may be towed, and owners are responsible for all costs.

The closure could make downtown parking more competitive this week.

While the lot is closed, the borough recommends that drivers search for nearby alternatives while the work is underway. The Beaver Avenue Garage, Fraser Street Garage, Pugh Street Garage, and McAllister Street Parking Garage will remain available, as will metered spaces along South Allen Street.

If your usual downtown parking spot is the Beaver Avenue Lot, make sure you have a backup before heading into this upcoming week.
