Penn State Football Linebacker Tony Rojas Named AP Second-Team Midseason All-American

Penn State football linebacker Tony Rojas was named to the Associated Press’ Midseason All-America second team Thursday afternoon.

After recovering from a season-ending lower-body injury he suffered in practice during Week 6 last year, Rojas leads the Nittany Lions in solo tackles (25), total tackles (44), tackles-for-loss (8.5), sacks (4), and interceptions (2) in 2026. The redshirt junior also has two pass breakups and a forced fumble.

Across the Big Ten, Rojas is tied for No. 7 in total tackles, No. 4 in sacks, and No. 2 in interceptions. The 6-foot-2, 236-pounder is one of nine Big Ten players named an AP Midseason All-American.

In his four seasons in Happy Valley, Rojas has appeared in 39 games, starting 26. The Fairfax, Virginia, native is the only active FBS player with at least 22 tackles-for-loss and six interceptions in their career.
