Penn State field hockey forward Ella Gaitan has won Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
She scored a goal in the shootout en route way to a 4-3 victory over Ohio State, which clinched postseason action for the Nittany Lions.
Gaitan wrapped up her week on October 18, when she scored both goals for Penn State in a crucial 2-1 victory over No. 18 Michigan. Both scores were set up via passes from senior midfielder Natalie Freeman.
Penn State currently sits at 10-4 on the season, with a 4-1 Big Ten record. It is ranked No. 14 in the latest field hockey RPI, but is unranked in the NFHCA Poll.
Penn State has three games remaining on its regular-season schedule. The Big Ten Tournament starts November 4, with Ohio State set to host.
