Two Penn State Women’s Hockey Players Receive Weekly AHA Recognition

After back-to-back wins against Lindenwood this weekend, the AHA recognized two Penn State women’s hockey players for their performance.
Sophomore Sophie Morrow won Defender of the Week, while freshman Morgan Stickney took home Rookie of the Week honors.
Morrow was recognized based on her Friday evening performance, where she tallied two assists and the game-winning goal in a 5-4 victory for the Nittany Lions.
She also won Defender of the Week earlier in the season when Penn State swept Robert Morris, as she recorded two assists in a 4-1 victory against the Colonials on October 3.
Morrow put up eight points in eight games so far, making her a point-per-game player, an impressive feat for a defenseman.
Stickney was recognized for her performance on Saturday, as she recorded her first collegiate shutout in a 3-0 trampling of Lindenwood.
Product of prestigious prep school Shattuck-St. Mary’s, the freshman has played to a .903 save percentage and 2.42 goals-against average in four games to this point.
The No. 6 Nittany Lions look to continue their success as they travel to play St. Lawrence this weekend on Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 3 p.m. Both games will be played at Appleton Arena.
Fans will be able to stream the games from home on ESPN+.
