Hoops season is back, folks.

The Penn State men’s basketball team joined the Lady Lions at the East Halls basketball courts for a night of basketball, pizza, and fun. Students met the teams they’ll cheer for all winter while competing against players for a chance to win prizes.

As always, our photographers were there to capture every moment. Let’s take a look at how the night unfolded.

Warmups gave everyone a chance to meet the players and get some autographs. Both the men’s and women’s teams have plenty of new transfers, so folks got to meet plenty of new faces.

The player introductions brought the energy!

Bryant Byers, Devyn Quigley, and Enjulina Gonzalez are just some of the transfers ready to play for the blue and white in 2026-27.

The Nittany Lion had to show off his skills. He gave the skills competition his best shot.

Men’s head coach Mike Rhoades is ready for another season in Happy Valley. Welcome back to the Lady Lions, coach Tanisha Wright!

The championship-winning Lionettes put on a show!

After all the celebration was over, it was time for the skills competition to begin. Penn State hoopers faced off against students for a chance at prizes.

Onward State’s own Christopher Green got involved!

Once the skills competition crowned a winner, it was time for knockout.

Prizes included Adidas Penn State swag and free student tickets to the Legion of Blue!

Catch both men’s basketball and the Lady Lions as they play their first games at the Bryce Jordan Center on November 2 in a double-header. The first tip is at 5:30 p.m.
