Two Penn State Women’s Hockey Players Earn Weekly AHA Honors

Following two big non-conference wins against St. Lawrence over the weekend, two Penn State women’s hockey players have earned weekly conference awards.
Junior alternate captain Grace Outwater won AHA Forward of the Week, while freshman Morgan Stickney won AHA Goaltender of the Week.
Outwater netted goals in both games against the Saints, upping her season total to seven in just eight games. Her goal in the second of the two games was a clutch overtime winner.
Despite Outwater’s strong career to this point, she was yet to win an AHA weekly award. She was previously named to the AHA All-Rookie team for the 2024-25 season, however, so she is no stranger to recognition from the conference.
Stickney made a total of 40 saves and played to a .953 save percentage throughout her consecutive starts against St. Lawrence, which led her to her first-career back-to-back victories.
Stickney’s strong play has been recognized already during the 2026-27 season. She earned Rookie of the Week honors just a week ago for her performance against Lindenwood.
Stickney has won four games and has posted an elite goals-against-average in her first six contests as a Nittany Lion, which sits below two at 1.90.
The No. 6 Nittany Lions will travel to Rochester to play a two-game series against the RIT Tigers. Both games will be played at Gene Polisseni Center, with puck drop set for 6 p.m. on Friday at 6 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
