[Photo Story] The Spooky Streets Of State College

As Halloween approaches, even State College’s most-traveled streets start to look spooky.

Usually filled with students heading to bars and a buzzing nightlife, these roads take on a new, eerie look on a quiet weeknight.

Take a look at some photos our photographers captured of the town’s unfamiliar, dark, and quiet side.

Under the dim glow of streetlights and store signs, empty sidewalks and alleys create a scene that may look like something out of your favorite horror movie.

After dark, rows of street lamps subtly light the empty sidewalks around campus and downtown, where the usual crowd of students is nowhere to be found.

On a chilly late-October night, some of the most recognizable places around campus and town, like Old Main, Raising Cane’s, and even the Student Bookstore, start to look unsettling, unlike the ones you’re used to seeing.

With nothing but the faint light of the bell tower or a distant staircase, who knows what may be lurking in the shadows?

Happy Halloween, folks!
