Penn State Women’s Soccer Invites Folks To Leave Their Mark At Jeffrey Field Through Rocks

If you’ve wandered past Jeffrey Field recently, you may have noticed decorated rocks by the newly renovated soccer facility. Well, that is the Jeffrey Field rock snake.
The idea began with Penn State women’s soccer head coach Erica Dambach, inspired by her kids, Addy and Kylie. She said the rocks merge her two homes together: her family and soccer.
“We have one in our neighborhood that people add to, and that has grown over time, and I think it’s a neat way for our community to leave their mark at Jeffrey Field,” Dambach told Onward State.
For women’s soccer, the rock snake is more than just a few rocks. It’s a way to bring the community together in hopes of uniting Nittany Nation.
Folks in the community are not the only ones getting involved, though. Players are also starting to embrace the rock snake, Dambach said. The rock snake gives seniors a way to leave a permanent mark on their Penn State career and on Jeffrey Field.
The goal is that as the rock snake grows, so does the support for women’s soccer.
Grab a rock, create your design, and leave a lasting impact on a growing program the next time you’re by Jeffrey Field!
