Public Domain Keeps THON Singing Along
Popular local band Public Domain took the stage for a middle of the night performance that had everyone in the BJC jamming out to their classic setlist that has won over the hearts of many in the State College bar band circuit.
The band, including Penn State drum major Ian Kenney, kicked off with Real World from Matchbox 20 and transitioned into great singalong songs like Sister Hazel’s “All for You,” Del Amitri’s “Roll To Me,” and Oasis’ “Wonderwall.” It was just the interaction that the crowd needed at this time of THON, and the high-energy, relatable band did not disappoint.
Public Domain is one of those special bands that you don’t need to look up a single song to see who originally performed it. From Barenaked Ladies’ “One Week” to “I Will Wait” by Mumford & Sons, every song was former hit that everyone could sing along with.
The band seemed to be able to hit the harmony of any song, with the though notes from Mumford to “Chicken Fried. It was the perfect setlist for THON and a stellar performance for eyes that may just be starting to get weary.
Indeed, if every bar band had the talent and setlist of Public Domain, I’d be paying a lot more cover fees.
