At 6:42 this morning, RAM Squad took to the stage and generally rocked the Bryce Jordan Center with a dazzling display of hip hop dance. Towards the end of the performance, RAM brought its THON children onto the stage, putting a capper to an excellent performance and RAM’s emphatic introduction to the larger world of THON.
Springfielders are quirky, passionate, dedicated, and innovative, but above all, they are a family. As we celebrate THON’s 40th birthday Springfield celebrates its 12th–12 years and a million dollars raised for THON, but also 12 years of close relationships with its THON families and 12 years of the larger, ever-growing Springfield family.
There are many quantifiable measures of THON’s success, namely how much money students raise from canning, rafflebooking, THONline donations, THONvelopes, and so on. The Family Relations committee, however, seeks success in an intangible and emotional way: through the children and families that inspire everything from the canning to the dancing.
Although Penn State basketball is currently sitting in the basement of the Big Ten standings, the team’s future got a little brighter Thursday night with the verbal commitment of 4-star small combo guard Brandon Austin.
