You probably pass by Old Main at least once a day, but how often do you get to go inside of it? The prominent yet rather mysterious building doesn't generally offer current students a whole lot, being filled with administrative offices.
That changed yesterday afternoon when the Penn State Lion Ambassadors held their annual Old Main Open House. The afternoon was filled with games, trivia, and appearances by the Pennharmonics, the Blue Band Trumpets, Penn State Majorettes, Blue Sapphire PJ Maierhofer, and the Nittany Lion. But the highlight of the afternoon for most attendees was the tour of Old Main.
The tour takes you through various floors of Old Main and ends with a trip up to the Bell Tower, where visitors can experience unparalleled views of campus and downtown State College. Before you get to the bell tower, though, you meet several costumed Ambassadors along the way who talk about what life at Penn State was like back when Old Main was the entirety of campus.
Staff photographer Charlotte Kohl was at the Open House and took the tour. Her pictures are after the jump.
Last night, the Interfraternity Council voted unanimously to expel the Pi Deuteron chapter Alpha Epsilon Pi for a minimum of 2 years due to hazing. Allegations regarding hazing appeared in a State College Police report, which stated that, on February 11th of this year, AEPi forced their pledges to drink hard liquor and beer to the point that two had to be taken to Mt. Nittany Medical Center with acute alcohol poisoning.

Last night, Penn State's Twitter feed posted a tweet that read "See #PennState in a whole new way - Tuesday / 7 a.m. / http:// www.psu.edu". Many on Twitter viewed this as an announcement of a new website design for dear Old State.
As it turns out, the announcement was for a new commercial that the University has decided to place over top of their home page. Major letdown.

At TEDx events, unique talks given by live speakers combine with TEDTalks videos to spark deep conversation and connections. TEDx events are fully planned and coordinated independently, on a community-by-community basis.”
The IST Alumni Society is aiming to bring a TEDx Conference to Penn State in the fall...Read more about it after the jump.
It seems like just yesterday that the final total was raised on stage at the end of THON 2010, but the largest student-run philanthropy in the world moves quickly. Applications for select Captain positions have been posted on THON.org this week. THON Captains are in charge of the various projects and events that take place throughout the year and during THON weekend. They report directly to the Overall Committee and many of them oversee committees of their own.

Friday night welcomed former Degrassi star Drake to the Bryce Jordan Center. Drake was known for his role as the wheelchair-bound Jimmy Brooks before launching a career as a recording artist.
When his songs "Best I Ever Had" and "Every Girl" debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in July, 2009, Drake became only the second artist to have his first two top-ten hits occur in the same week.
