Can you imagine a State Patty's Day where there was more than just drinking? A day with live music, food, AND excessive green? Rather than continue the debate between whether State Pattys day falls in line with Penn State traditions past, or if the day-long alcohol binge stands out as a scar on the spring semester, we should accept that State Patty’s day is here for the foreseeable future and likely isn’t going anywhere.
The Heister Street parking lot was transformed into a Red Bull-hosted butter cup snowboarding event last night. The scene had a neighborhood, "Hey Arnold" feel. Snow, shipped in from Tussey, was packed into a ramp giving the snowboarders enough speed to hit the jumps. Passers-by stopped, snagged a red bull and watched some snowboarders compete. Those lucky 21-year-olds were invited to an after-party at the G-man for $3 Red Bull+ vodkas. Who knew downtown State College could get this cool?
Graffiti appeared on the Penn State campus at Pattee Library and the Forum Building over the weekend. One instance makes reference to "Banksey", but is it an imitator? The real Banksy is a well-known British Graffiti Artist. Next we'll hear that "Weezey" is coming here.
