Last night on Twitter, a number of students tweeted condolences for William A. Schreyer, who is perhaps best well known here as the namesake and benefactor of the Schreyer Honors College. It wasn't until this morning, though, that we found official confirmation of the reports.
First reported by StateCollege.com's Adam Smeltz, the Center for Strategic and International Studies published a release expressing the think-tank's sorrow at Schreyer's death. Schreyer was a major benefactor of the nonpartisan institute. We will update this post with more information as it becomes available.
The THON Rules & Regulations committee released a video yesterday explaining what to look for when you head out canning this weekend. Was the Frogger clip really necessary though?

Dean David Hall sent an email to students in the College of Information Sciences and Technology reminding them that hacking on the school network is not permitted.
Can't blame the students that much... the email suggests that they were just trying common exploits and on a pretty minor scale. It was probably some bored SRA kids trying their black hats on for size. But then again, hacking on the Penn State network is definitely not a good move when your activity is almost certainly linked to your Penn State ID. Check out the full email after the jump.
The Penn State Board of Trustees approved a plan this morning to convert the University Park steam production facilities from coal-based to natural gas-based. We contacted Eco-Action for their immediate response. Check it out after the jump.
Have you ever wondered what kind of questionnaire has to be filled out by students dancing in THON? Check it out after the jump.

The new @PennStateIFC leadership is doing work. The PennStateIFC.org splash page looks great and they're fully employing social media.
Social media is really nothing new for IFC presidents though... Max tweeted through his presidency, and Luke Pierce did the same before him.
