As I delved into the Paterno family report today and Louis Freeh's subsequent statement, I couldn't help but notice an alarming discrepancy and one that could mean a lot about the personalities we're dealing with here.

Louis Freeh has issued a response to the independent report released by the Paterno family, standing by his investigation conducted this summer. The Paterno report is highly critical of Freeh's investigation and the conclusions he reached about Joe Paterno in the Freeh report.

I'm not one to believe in conspiracy theories or parse words, especially with all that's gone on at Penn State in the last year and a half. But as I started to read the NCAA's response to Pennsylvania's lawsuit calling for the sanctions to be overturned, I couldn't help but notice one glaring error on the first page that really makes me question how much the NCAA actually knows about what has happened at Penn State (as if that wasn't in question previously).

News continues to break today and this week about the Paterno family's new PR initiative to defend Joe Paterno's legacy. It was reported that an independent report commissioned by the Paterno family will be released on Sunday morning. Sue Paterno is set to appear on Katie Couric on Monday. And now, a letter has been published that Sue Paterno sent to Penn State lettermen defending her late husband.

Everyone's favorite mailman Mike Herr -- affectionately known as "Mike the Mailman" -- will be appearing on CBS Evening News which airs at 6:30 p.m.
