115 Tickets Stolen for Temple Game Saturday

According to Penn State News, approximately 115 tickets from Temple’s allotment for Saturday’s Penn State-Temple football game have been stolen and may be circulating through fans planning to attend the game.

Volunteer With Furry Stress-Relievers At PAWS

While State College is home to almost 42,000 human residents, a number of other species inhabit the area as well. This includes the cats, dogs, and other animals currently residing at the Centre County PAWS animal shelter out near the mall. Centre County PAWS, established in 1980, is one of three animal shelters in the State College area. However, there are many of things that set it apart from the Pennsylvania SPCA and Pets Come First, both located in Centre Hall.

$1M Donation Honors Food Science Professor

An anonymous gift of $1 million was donated to Penn State’s Department of Food Science on Tuesday to honor Food Science Professor Emeritus Phil Keeney. According to a press release, the donation will be used specifically to establish the Philip G. Keeney Food Science Department Head Excellence Fund. Proceeds from this fund will be used to support programs and new initiatives in food science research, extension, and teaching.

California Tortilla Coming to Downtown State College

A new Mexican food option will soon enter the fray in downtown State College – California Tortilla, a fairly new franchise based out of Maryland, will open a location on College Avenue where The Retreat's realty office used to be next to Zola.
