Wolf Ousts Corbett For Governor; Thompson, Conklin Win

With polls closing in Pennsylvania, the hotly contested gubernatorial race has been called for Democratic challenger Tom Wolf by multiple outlets. Wolf defeated incumbent Tom Corbett (R) in a race closely-watched by Penn Staters due to Corbett's involvement in the aftermath of the Sandusky Scandal.

$1M Donation Honors Food Science Professor

An anonymous gift of $1 million was donated to Penn State’s Department of Food Science on Tuesday to honor Food Science Professor Emeritus Phil Keeney. According to a press release, the donation will be used specifically to establish the Philip G. Keeney Food Science Department Head Excellence Fund. Proceeds from this fund will be used to support programs and new initiatives in food science research, extension, and teaching.
