On Thursday, February 13th 2014, State College was blessed with the presence of Yeezus. The events that unfolded last night were unlike anything any of us anticipated witnessing.
Super Bowl Sunday is the closest thing America has to a truly national holiday outside of the Fourth of July. Despite viewership numbers dipping this year, more than 30 percent of the entire national population tuned in to watch Richard Sherman and the Seahawks make Peyton Manning look like Mark Sanchez. With that many people invested in the game, there had to be some brilliant comments made by the denizens of State College. We scoured bars, Super Bowl parties, bottle shops, and of course wing places to hear the thoughts of Penn Staters on the big game.
Starting this Thursday (1/30), rush week for business fraternities will begin in earnest with the Business Fraternity Council (BFC) Mixer. All of the business fraternities the University has will be present at the event, enabling rushees to meet representatives from all of the fraternities in order to determine which one (or ones) they want to rush.
As with any place filled with large amounts of drunks, the brilliance of the inebriated individual you hear carrying on a conversation can be astounding. Over the course of several house, apartment, frat and 21st birthday parties, and several drunk food hotspots, we compiled some of the best of the week. Welcome to Overheard: Penn State Syllabus Week edition.
2013 was an interesting year. As a hyper informed and far-too-cynical student deeply invested in the Penn State community, I know a thing or two about all the dumb, obnoxious, and generally awful things that happened here this year. This is the Worst Penn State Things List of 2013.
