THON may still be eight days away, but THON 2012 dancers and moralers kicked off the festivities last night at Rec Hall with the start of Color Wars. Here's what they did, who they saw, and how the night got them ready for THON 2012!
It's February and THON is just around the corner. And we all know what that means: State Patty's Day is lurking right behind it. There has been a lot of discussion over the last several years about the harms this "holiday" brings along with the drinking and merriment, including the potential disgrace to the reputation of our school and community. But this year, that concern takes on a whole new tone. So we at Onward State want you to take a moment and ask yourselves, "Do I care about the image of Penn State?"

Did you miss us? Onward State has decided to re-incarnate a fan favorite, #MusicMonday. Every Monday, a few of our staff writers will tell you what they are listening to and why you should probably give it a download as well. We hope to give you a variety of sounds as we have a variety of tastes on staff.

Every Wednesday, the UPUA general assembly meets in the HUB to help shape the future of our school and our world. Whether it's allocating $6,000 for i-clickers, generously granting guest-speakers $3 for two Diet Cokes, or sending students to conferences in Illinois for $1,200 a pop, UPUA is always looking out for you, the students. Like any transparent governing body, these politicians kindly allow the public to attend their weekly legislative meetings. Below, you’ll read the experiences of three writers who took it upon themselves to have a great night with differing ideals at last nights UPUA meeting.

Thousands in the Penn State community lined up along College Avenue and Curtain Road to view the funeral procession of former Penn State Football Coach Joseph Paterno, who passed away on January 22, 2012, ending his fight with lung cancer. He was 85 years old. After the jump are images from today's procession.
