This morning, dozens of people discovered that the NCAA has pulled all Penn State merchandise from its official store. If you search under "All Teams," you will find apparel for every single Division I institution except Penn State. It should be noted that recently athletically sanctioned schools such as North Carolina and Ohio State do have merchandise available on the site.
As of today, Penn State will no longer be paying Graham Spanier's lucrative presidential salary. Yesterday, a Daily Collegian article titled "Spanier still making hundreds of thousands from Penn State," reported that the former Penn State president will be paid his $700,000 per year salary through the length of his one year sabbatical.
I’m not the same person that I was a year ago. I was a very involved student at this University, giving tours as a Lion Ambassador, writing posts for this blog, taking classes as a Marketing major, etc. And all of those things remain constant today. But a part of me changed – changed for the better, I think.
While this election has been widely discussed both on campus and on social media, many wondered, including myself, how many students would actually show up to the polls today. The answer? A lot.
Shortly after Spanier was charged with eight counts relating to perjury and endangering the welfare of children, Penn State released a statement that mentions Graham Spanier's future with the University.
Graham Spanier wasn't the only former Penn State administrator charged with crimes relating to the Sandusky scandal today. Gary Schultz and Tim Curley, two men who are already facing pre-existing perjury and failure to report charges, now face six additional charges, including four felonies.
