Penn State used hot starts and defensive pressure at the beginning of both halves to quickly put points on the board, leading to a 66-59 victory over injury-plagued Northwestern at Welsh-Ryan Arena. The win marks the first Big Ten road win of the Pat Chambers era and the first conference road win for Penn State since a victory at Minnesota on March 6, 2011.
After pulling off an improbable upset, a team will usually react one of two ways in their next contest. They will either build off the momentum of the previous game with a similar effort, or they'll stink up the place.

Penn State was plagued by turnovers and a committed a season-high 31 personal fouls as they continue to search for their first Big Ten win of the season. The Nittany Lions were led offensively by Jermaine Marshall and Sasa Borovnjak, who scored 20 and 17 points, respectively.
