Last year, the Penn State community endured the loss of freshman Courtney O'Bryan when she passed away in a car accident en route to a weekend canning trip. To honor her memory, THON announced the creation of the Courtney O'Bryan Volunteer Award to “recognize the volunteer who most embodies O’Bryan’s charitable work and dedication to THON’s mission” and her mother presented the award tonight.
The theme for this year's homecoming has been announced. It was revealed this afternoon at THON by Homecoming Executive Director Bobby Walter, that the homecoming 2013 theme will be "Generations Evolve, Tradition Remains!"
The 2013 THON's Got Talent competition showcased three talented musical acts that kept the folks at the Bryce Jordan Center on their feet as the hours continue to roll by. The three acts were comprised of Penn State students who were all excited to grace the THON stage and win over an audience that would ultimately decide the winner via a text vote.
Penn State will again look to register their first conference win of the season tonight at the Bryce Jordan Center when Iowa comes to town for a 9 p.m. tip on ESPNU. With the game being played on the eve of THON, Penn State head coach Pat Chambers has pledged to donate $10 to the Four Diamonds Fund for every Penn State student who attends the game. Additionally, it will also be another dollar dog night.
