Penn State has announced that it will hold a university-wide memorial service in honor of former Vice Provost for Educational Equity W. Terrell Jones on Tuesday, Sept. 23 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center.
Jones passed away on August 19 after a battle with cancer, after being on medical leave for several months. A champion of diversity, he lead the university's implementation of its strategic plan to support the issue. Jones was known to speak to Sam Richards' SOC 119 class from time to time, which centers on race and ethnic relations.
Just as you thought you would be able to get back into the swing of things following Syllabus Week, THON has opened up applications for their 12 committees for THON 2015.
One of the most, if not the most popular ways to get involved in THON, committees are almost like a right of passage for most Penn State students who wish to be more involved in the organization. Students must apply before 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 12 on THON's site THINK and at Alumni Hall in the HUB between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on September 12.
