This is my first Arts Fest. Shameful, but sadly true. I have heard a lot about Arts Fest over my time here at PSU and now am finally able to experience it to the fullest. Good thing I have this handy guide to help me find my way around Arts Fest. I was however left to navigate my way around the vendors on my own.

Penn State women's volleyball star Megan Hodge has been lugging around a lot of hardware over the past few months. She started out by being named the AVCA Division 1 Women's Volleyball National Player of the Year and the Penn State Female Athlete of the Year. In the past month, she has also won the Suzy Favor Award (given to the Big Ten's top female performer) and the Honda-Broderick Cup, presented to the best female athlete in the NCAA. And on this coming Wednesday, she could have another honor to add to her already over-loaded trophy case.
Following news that Webster's Bookstore and Cafe has just three weeks left in a lease of 128 S. Allen St that will not be renewed, concerned members of the community are organizing meetings and petitions to protest the possible closure of a downtown fixture.
Earlier today the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives approved the state budget for the 2010-2011 fiscal year. The new $28,043,137 budget trims almost a billion dollars from Governor Ed Rendell's proposed budget of $29,029,507. The new budget is an increase of over $243 million from last year's much delayed bill. In fact, this is the first time in Ed Rendell's 8 years as governor that the state budget has been approved on time. But the big question that the Penn State faithful want to know is, how will this new budget impact Old State?

Now that summer's kicked into high gear, your skin is probably darker than normal, maybe even just an incidental tan. Hopefully it's less than certain Mid-Atlantic youth of Italian extraction.
