Music Mondays are dedicated to students' love of constantly fresh and bumpin' music. No matter if it's hip-hop, pop or Euro-beats, the staff here at Onward State appreciates whatever can get a party started. Here's your week's selections and playlist to get you through another frigid week of snowstorms and apartment hopping.

Political satire group The Capitol Steps performed at the State Theatre last night to a slightly older crowd with their musical quips about current hot topics. A group of five comedians took turns changing outfits, accents, and ethnicities during the fast paced show, never skipping a beat on the political pulse.

This weekend, as I was watching SNL, I though I noticed something familiar during a sketch about the Columbia University drug busts. Upon further inspection, I realized that our very own Old Main was being used in the background to represent the college campus. While it's great for Penn State to get some air time, I'm not sure whether I should feel offended or honored. Check out the sketch after the jump so you can make up your own mind.

The Heister Street parking lot was transformed into a Red Bull-hosted butter cup snowboarding event last night. The scene had a neighborhood, "Hey Arnold" feel. Snow, shipped in from Tussey, was packed into a ramp giving the snowboarders enough speed to hit the jumps. Passers-by stopped, snagged a red bull and watched some snowboarders compete. Those lucky 21-year-olds were invited to an after-party at the G-man for $3 Red Bull+ vodkas. Who knew downtown State College could get this cool?

It was feeling like deja vu all over again. A huge crowd filled the Bryce Jordan Center and a ranked team was coming in, this time in the form of the seventeenth-ranked Wisconsin Badgers. Twelve minutes in, the Nittany Lions were down 22-9. Everyone could feel the blowout coming. But this time, it didn't.
