The White Building became a painted palace yesterday afternoon as members of the 13 captain committees and organization members revisited their favorite childhood fairy-tales and stories for "Once Upon a THON," the 13th annual THON Family Carnival.

For the second time this season, Penn State will be one of the featured teams on ESPN's College Gameday when the program airs live from Columbus, Ohio this coming Saturday.

Earlier this afternoon in the White Building main gymnasium, the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon Overall Committee revealed the logo for THON 2011. Designed by Ginsiorsky, the logo features a sailboat with two people looking over the bow.

After living and studying at Penn State for the past five years, there's little (if anything) that will surprise me anymore when I step out on to the streets of State College. Chicken-costumed students running laps in my lecture hall in Thomas Building, atheists protesting crazy religious groups that flock to our campus each semester, and girls doing the walk of shame at all hours of the day are only some of my favorite memories of college life.
But Halloween in State College? Now that is a horse of a different color.

Does it get any more dramatic than that?
After falling behind 21-0 in the 2nd quarter, head coach Joe Paterno rallied his troops to post 35 unanswered points in the last 30 minutes and 4 seconds of the game. Then his players hoisted him high above the Beaver Stadium field to celebrate the legend's 400th career victory as time expired.

Do you dream about walking backwards? Do you talk to your friends about how Schwab Auditorium is haunted and other Penn State trivia? Do you pray to the Gods of Blue and White to end up in the "S" Zone every Saturday? If you are Penn State Proud and think you have what it takes to be a part of one of the oldest organizations on campus, you need to check out recruitment sessions and apply to be a Lion Ambassador.
