Getting (a)Head in State College

You're wandering downtown State College, looking in the windows displaying plenty of Penn State pride through displays and set-ups in the windows. You've bought every 'State' and 'Happy Valley' item you could manage to fit in your closet from the The Family Clothesline, and there's no good music out at Music Underground (surprising, but it happens).

Maybe you could waste your money on pizza that tastes, and looks, like cardboard. I'm looking at you Canyon. But what shops have we forgotten about? What places have we let go to the wind?

Phi Delta Theta Says Goodbye, For Now

On Thursday, The Daily Collegian published an article announcing the now defunct Phi Delta Theta fraternity has "no plans to recolonize.” When interviewed, Phi Delta Theta's alumni Board of Directors expressed their disagreement with the national associations alcohol policy as the reason why they're not jumping at the bit to recolonize.

To say the Hawkeyes are a nightmare for the Nittany Lions would be an understatement. Iowa has beaten Penn State 6 out of the last 7 matchups, including Iowa's 24-23 crushing victory in 2008 that spoiled the Lions perfect season and any hopes of a BCS National Championship.

Meet self-proclaimed “Rock Comedian” Brian Smith, an Indiana University graduate who is sure to rack up the PSU pageviews as his video singing about the trials and tribulations of Penn State college life is released today. Smith is slowly gaining a following around college campuses as the go-to promoter of individualized college life, be it Indiana University or Hofstra University, as he creates humorous videos featuring all those things we college kids our proud of… you know: pubs, clubs, and drugs.

First CCSG Council Tonight

Student government representatives from all 19 Commonewalth Campuses will trek up to University Park this weekend for this year's first monthly collective meeting of the Commonwealth Council of Student Governments, usually referred to as Council Weekend or Council.
