But in all seriousness, the State College Borough Council did a good thing this week. The controversial Pennsylvania Voter ID Law was upheld by the courts last week, which requires voters to show ID's at the polls, and potentially disenfranchises thousands of voters who didn't have the foresight or means to obtain proper ID. Borough Council decided to hold a public forum where citizens could come and voice their opinion on a council resolution that would condemn the new law.

State College Mayor Elizabeth Goreham released a statement on the borough's website regarding the recent sanctions and scandal, with a special emphasis on what the community can do to adress the issue of sexual abuse.

Joie de Crêpe in downtown State College is a tribute to all things French—accordion music, the fleur-de-lis, and (of course) butter. Specializing in gourmet crêpes and Belgian waffles, Joie de Crêpe is owner Hitham Hiyajneh’s take on the traditional French crêperie. (You may have seen Hitham at his other delicious establishment, Pita Cabana). Crêpe stands can be found on every street corner in Paris and are known for being quick and casual places to grab a bite to eat for cheap. Joie de Crêpe is no different.

Apart from being that annual summer weekend when everyone descends back into State College to reunite, the Central Pennsylvania Festival for the Arts actually has a primary function, and a really good one at that. When you walk around downtown, there's a ton of really great artwork and performances that make you wonder to yourself, "What brought all this stuff to the middle of Pennsylvania?"
