Centre County District Attorney Stacy Parks-Miller announced charges against the Beta Theta Pi fraternity entity and eighteen former brothers Friday morning in Bellefonte.
"This didn't have to happen," Jim Piazza said.
Centre County DA Stacy Parks Miller announced these charges as a result of a grand jury investigation into student Tim Piazza's death from injuries he sustained when he fell down the steps at Beta Theta Pi fraternity.
Parks Miller will investigate these potential violations in response to defense attorneys who anonymously spoke to The Philadelphia Inquirer earlier this week and one of the same attorneys who she says described police evidence in an interview on local television the next day.
Fraternity Sigma Alpha Mu has been suspended for at least two years after violations that occurred during Parents Weekend.
