The Philadelphia Inquirer says defense attorneys and "other sources who have spoken with the students" confirm members of the fraternity say they initially went to help Piazza when he fell.
The response addresses statements that administrators have not included student leaders in discussions on recent Greek regulations set by Penn State two weeks ago.
"It is time to stop trying to save reputations and repeating the same failed approaches, because that will not make Penn State a better and safer place. It is time to address these problems head on, together," the letter reads.
IFC's chapter presidents voted last night to cancel all socials for the next two weeks, two days after Penn State administrators said that nine of 82 Greek organizations violated the new regulations over Parents Weekend.
Instead of offering resources for improvement, Penn State shattered the Greek system and left its members stranded and scrambling to pick up the pieces.
If these behaviors and violations don't change, Barron predicts "many empty houses and then the end of Greek life at Penn State."
