
A common theme across campus this week has been how the impact of one man can last far beyond his passing. This weekend at the Jon Quigley Memorial Water Polo Tournament, Penn State's men's and women's club water polo teams proudly celebrated the impact made by a friend and teammate.

False claims into the legitimacy of a new potential downtown nightclub have prompted two investigations into the source of those claims. State College Police Sgt. Greg Brauser said an investigation determined Levels Nighclub is not a fraudulent business, despite claims on Facebook suggesting otherwise.

A junior-public relations major, Newburg is involved with THON Communications Committee, Tom’s Campus Club, Public Relations Student Society of America, Happy Valley Communications and sponsors a child through World Vision. As if she isn’t involved enough, Newburg will introduce a new club to the Penn State, University Park campus this semester called "charity: water.”

Joe Paterno’s passing, and State College’s heartfelt response has come at an unfathomable time in my life. The first 20 years I have been alive were spent almost entirely at my parents' residence just around the corner from the Paterno home. As a lifetime resident and Paterno neighbor, I have admired the deceased coach for many years.

The Nittany Lions fencers hope for another good performance on Saturday in the Penn State Invitational, coming off the men's team's second place finish at the St. Johns Invitational last weekend. This weekend's tournament, to be held in the White Building, will kick off at 8:30 a.m. as the Nittany Lions host squads from Penn, Duke, Drew, Haverford, Johns Hopkins, and UNC.

Thursday afternoon’s “A Memorial For Joe” brought a mourning Penn State community together to remember a man who has meant more to the university than anyone else in the past half-century. Students, current and former players, fellow coaches, and fans alike filled the Bryce Jordan Center to hear stories and to remember the life and legacy of Coach Joe Paterno.
