Voting was up in this year's election. Of the 144,425 eligible voters, 9,251 voted, for a voting percentage of 6.41 percent, compared to the 5.64 percent that voted in 2017.

Four candidates were nominated this year for the three open seats, and alumni voting was open from April 10 to May 3.
The extension was ultimately approved, though many current alumni trustees chose to vote against it or abstain entirely.
