
It's been a week of goodbyes for incoming Penn State President Eric Barron as he begins his transition into Old Main this week. Barron will officially take over the reigns from Rodney Erickson after the spring semester, but his last day at Florida State will be on April 2.

Paul Berg is Penn State's only Nobel Prize winning alumnus: in 1980, a result of his groundbreaking research in DNA and gene slicing, Berg was award chemistry's highest prize, along with two other professors.

Penn State's favorite mailman is making his way from the post office to the theater. As announced by Penn State Thespians, Mike Herr -- better known as Mike the Mailman -- will appear in the Thespians' production of "In the Heights" this week.

With four-year twirler Matt Freeman set to graduate, there were open auditions to find his replacement. Rachel Reiss, an incoming freshman from Lancaster, found out on Friday that she was selected to replace Freeman.
